Bonobo Announces New Album 'Distance in Static' and World Tour

Bonobo, the British musician and DJ, has announced his new album 'Distance in Static', set for release on September 11 via Ninja Tune. The album marks both a high point and potential turning point in his 25-year career, with Bonobo hinting it may be his last in this format. The album features vocals in English, Japanese, and Urdu, with contributions from artists including Arooj Aftab, Joy Crookes, Nilüfer Yanya, Ichiko Aoba, and Nicole Miglis. Recorded in London, Tokyo, and at Neil Young's Broken Arrow Ranch in California, the album explores themes of distance and the unknown. Bonobo's previous album 'Fragments' reached number 3 on the German album charts in 2022, his best chart performance internationally. He has sold 900,000 records, earned multiple silver and gold certifications, and received several BRIT and seven GRAMMY nominations in the Dance/Electronic category—a feat matched only by Madonna, The Chemical Brothers, and Skrillex. A world tour with a live band and signature visuals will accompany the release, though no German dates are currently scheduled. The lead single 'Me and you' is available now.
