Bologna's Gelateria Sogni di Ghiaccio Marks 10 Years with Crowdfunding Campaign

Gelateria Sogni di Ghiaccio, a Bologna-based artist-run space founded in 2016, celebrates its tenth anniversary. Originally established by artists Filippo Marzocchi, Mattia Pajè, and Marco Casella, the initiative has evolved into a broader collective since 2024. The project's unusual name originates from an artistic work donated by Roberto Fassone. Over the past decade, the space has hosted nearly 150 artists across various disciplines, with programming emphasizing personal exhibitions and artistic freedom. The collective has operated primarily through self-funding and personal contributions. To mark this milestone and support future activities, Gelateria Sogni di Ghiaccio has launched its first crowdfunding campaign. The group describes its current approach as a 'friends-run space,' reflecting an expanded management structure. Their location on via Tanari Vecchia in Bologna has served as a hub for over 50 exhibitions, including an inaugural show by Rachele Maistrello. Recent years have seen intensified activity, with more than 30 events organized in the past year alone. The collective emphasizes horizontal relationships with artists and operational fluidity over long-term planning.
