exhibition · 2026-04-15

Bohie Kim, one of Korea's most esteemed landscape painters, presents her first Italian solo exhibition titled Towards at kaufmann repetto in Milan, opening April 15th. Her vividly chromatic compositions synthesize Oriental and Western traditions, merging ink-wash techniques on traditional Korean mulberry paper with Western mediums like canvas and acrylics. Kim's radiant paintings center on exuberant natural forms infused with spiritual qualities, depicting landscapes, still-lifes, and human figures. Initially trained in East Asian painting, she earned both her BFA and MFA from Ewha Womans University, where she served as a professor until 2017 and now holds professor emerita status. In the early 2000s, the artist established her home, developing a hybrid style that bridges cultural influences. The exhibition showcases her meditative botanical studies and wide-angled vistas, reflecting her unique artistic evolution.
