Blondshell Releases Third Album Violins, Announces December Tour

Sabrina Teitelbaum, 29, who goes by Blondshell, has unveiled her third album, Violins, through Partisan Records. This 11-track project was crafted during her 2022 tour and recorded in Los Angeles with producer Yves Rothman from January to April 2023. The album showcases guitars with a drier sound, drawing inspiration from bands like Gang of Four, Suede, and The Replacements, while also paying homage to Leonard Cohen in its lyrics. It delves into themes such as pain, beauty, sex, friendship, and the struggle of finding joy amidst violence. Unlike her earlier works, Violins tackles these subjects more directly. Notable tracks include "New Age Trojan Horse," which critiques enlightened men's discomfort with menstruation, and "Sea Legs," which contemplates spirituality. As she approaches her 30th birthday, Teitelbaum feels a sense of happiness and stability and plans to tour in December, kicking off in Amsterdam and concluding in Dublin.
