Black History Exhibition Travels to Museum of Vancouver in 2026

The exhibition titled "Hope Meets Action: Echoes Through the Black Continuum," developed by the BC Black History Awareness Society (BCBHAS) in collaboration with the Royal BC Museum (RBCM), will be showcased at the Museum of Vancouver from June 14 to September 13, 2026. This display emphasizes the significant contributions of Black leaders in British Columbia throughout history. Originally launched at the RBCM in 2021, it has toured various locations across the province. BCBHAS President Silvia Mangue Alene remarked that the exhibition fosters awareness of the legacy of Black settlers, which current Black communities in BC take pride in. For over 25 years, BCBHAS has been dedicated to preserving BC's Black history, making this exhibition a vital acknowledgment of that heritage.
