Bizhan Bassiri Presents 'Principe' Exhibition at Museo Correr in Venice

Iranian artist Bizhan Bassiri has opened a solo exhibition titled 'Principe. Il Nottambulo del Pensiero Magmatico' at the Museo Correr in Venice. Curated by Chiara Squarcina and Bruno Corà, the show features 85 photographic portraits of deceased artists, including Artemisia Gentileschi, Marcel Duchamp, and Alberto Giacometti, displayed in the Sala delle Quattro Porte. The exhibition runs until November 22, 2026, and includes bronze sculptures and works that engage with the museum's historical collection. Bassiri, who represented Iran at the 2017 Venice Biennale, discusses his artistic philosophy in an accompanying interview, emphasizing intuitive creation over intentional messaging.
