Bettina Pousttchi's Guardrail Sculpture Vertical Highways V03 Transforms Rockefeller Center

At Rockefeller Center in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, German artist Bettina Pousttchi has unveiled her impressive sculpture, Vertical Highways V03 (2025). This artwork reimagines conventional roadway guardrails as a poetic commentary on boundaries and transformation, harmonizing with the Art Deco surroundings. Pousttchi intends to foster a conversation between art and architecture that reflects New York's urban narrative. Previously, the sculpture was showcased at the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, Berlin Central Station, and Istanbul Modern Museum, highlighting themes of cultural exchange and the dissolution of borders. EB Kelly, Senior Managing Director of Tishman Speyer, commended the piece for its ability to turn infrastructure into a captivating visual experience. The installation will be displayed until April 17, 2026.
