Belfort to Launch New Art Museum in Late 2026 Consolidating Collections

The city of Belfort will open a new art museum in autumn 2026, designed by architecture firm A. Scarenello. The facility will consolidate collections previously dispersed across multiple sites, including 204 modern artworks, over 6,900 fine art pieces, and 10,700 historical objects. The museum complex will feature a contemporary building of 915 m², a suspended space for graphic arts, and an underground gallery connecting to the existing Maurice-Jardot villa. Permanent displays will include works from Renaissance to contemporary periods by artists such as Dürer, Courbet, Picasso, and local creators. Funding totals €8.8 million from municipal, regional, and national sources.
