Belfort Art School Ends Professional Programs After 35 Years
The École d'art Gérard-Jacot in Belfort is discontinuing its professional training programs in graphic design and visual arts after 35 years. The decision was made by the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, which was informed in April of a reduction in state funding for its job-seeker training program, amounting to 15 million euros for 2026. Consequently, the region will only retain training for individuals far from employment, with little or no qualifications. The news was reported by Éva Hameau in L'ŒIL on September 1, 2026.
