BBC License Fee Payers Drop by Over Half a Million in 2025-26

The BBC's annual report reveals a loss of 539,000 license fee payers in 2025-26, bringing the total to 23.3 million—the steepest decline since 2020-21. Despite the drop, license fee income rose by £36 million to a record £3.9 billion, driven by inflation-linked increases.
