Bayonne to Perform at Le Pop-up du Label on September 7

On September 7, the musician Bayonne, alias of Austin's Roger Sellers, will perform at Le Pop-up du Label. The live set will showcase his electronic avant-pop, which he builds layer by layer using loops, keyboards, and percussion, with his voice blending as another instrument. His style merges electronic pop, ambient, and dream pop, characterized by repetitive motifs, airy textures, and a smooth pulse. Bayonne's fourth album, Filters, continues the melodic vein of Temporary Time while exploring new spaces, featuring clear pianos, velvety synths, field recordings, and rhythmic writing that maintains momentum without abruptness. Composed in the wake of a bereavement, the album seeks a form of acceptance, and on stage these pieces gain amplitude and breathing room. Since his early records under Roger Sellers to Drastic Measures, Bayonne has refined an organic, precise, and patient electronic sound. At the Pop-up, his evolving set will circulate energy between minimalism, catchy melodies, and choral layers, with a sense of detail that transforms material into soundscapes.
