Bas Hendrikx named senior curator at De Pont Museum

Bas Hendrikx will become senior curator at De Pont Museum in Tilburg starting 1 October 2026. He will work alongside Maria Schnyder, who takes over as director and chief curator on the same date. Together they will shape the museum's exhibition program and collection. Hendrikx currently serves as a curator at Kanal-Centre Pompidou in Brussels, a role he has held since 2022, focusing on exhibitions, commissions, and audience engagement. Prior to that, he worked at P/////AKT in Amsterdam and the artist residency Hotel Mariakapel in Hoorn. His curatorial practice emphasizes long-term collaboration with artists and new productions developed through direct dialogue. He is especially interested in presentation formats tailored to an artist's specific practice. Schnyder praised Hendrikx's combination of experience and vision.
