Barbara Kingsolver's New Novel 'Partita' and Her Reading List
Next week marks the release of Barbara Kingsolver's nineteenth novel, "Partita." This book, which she describes as "a nesting box" of love letters, is told through the perspective of a daughter of a dairy farmer who dreams of becoming a concert pianist. As a trained classical pianist herself, Kingsolver delves into themes of love and the arts. Her Virginia home in Meadowview was previously highlighted in her 2007 memoir, "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle." She has plans for future readings, including Hernan Diaz's "Ply," Margaret Renkl's "The Weedy Garden," and Silas House's poetry. Recently, Kingsolver and House conducted a workshop in Greece. Upcoming titles also feature David Byrne's "Sleeping Beauties" and Lydia Millet's "Fair Ones." Additionally, a new series titled "Kill Jackie" is set to debut on Amazon Prime this Friday.
