Bad Bunny concert chaos reignites debate over Milan's Ippodromo La Maura

A severe hailstorm interrupted Bad Bunny's concert at Milan's Ippodromo La Maura on Saturday evening, forcing the evacuation of 80,000 people. While no serious injuries occurred, the event renewed criticism of the venue's suitability for large-scale concerts. Issues include chaotic entry and exit, insufficient parking and public transport, poor sightlines from the flat parterre, and noise limits (80 dB) that diminish sound quality. The venue, owned by Snaitech and located in Parco Trenno, has hosted concerts since 2022. Local politicians, including councilor Enrico Fedrighini and municipal president Giulia Pelucchi, have called for capacity reduction or closure. Mayor Beppe Sala acknowledged the venue is not ideal and will discuss reducing capacity with the prefect. Live Nation CEO Roberto De Luca defended the evacuation as successful. Milan has few alternatives: the Fiera Milano Live arena in Rho (capacity 68,000) is proposed as a better option due to its location away from residences and better transport links. A 2026 plan allows 32 concerts across three venues: 19 at San Siro, 5 at La Maura, and 8 at San Siro hippodrome.
