In the realm of digital audiobooks, 36% were acquired new or via subscription, 37% were borrowed from libraries, and 27% came from alternative sources, including piracy. Authors earn a 25% royalty on e-books, and library patrons purchase 42% fewer new titles. The AAP has blocked a Maryland law regarding library e-book access.
