Australian Museum Foundation Gala Raises Funds for Gallery Revitalization

The Australian Museum Foundation held its annual gala dinner, Night at the Museum, on October 16, 2025, generating over $400,000. Proceeds will support the renovation of the Birds of Australia Gallery with updated design and technology, as well as an educational access program called A Day at the Museum. A live auction featured the naming rights for a new Christmas Beetle species, won by Genisys for $25,000, resulting in the scientific name Anoplognathus genisys. The event included performances by Opera Australia and Jannawi Dance Clan, with Simon Marnie as host, and involved donors, staff, and partners.
