Australian Museum Chief Experience Officer Russell Briggs to Depart in July 2025

The Australian Museum announced that Chief Experience Officer Russell Briggs will leave the institution on July 11, 2025, to focus on consulting work. Briggs joined the museum in 2017 and oversaw exhibitions, education programs, visitor services, digital projects, and collection management. During his tenure, he contributed to significant exhibition spaces like the Burra play area and Minerals Gallery, supported the museum's 2020 facility transformation, and helped achieve record attendance. Museum Director Kim McKay acknowledged Briggs' role in successful exhibitions including Ramses & the Gold of the Pharaohs and Sharks. The museum plans to recruit a replacement for the position.
