Atelier 008 Transforms 1960s House into Meditative Retreat in Slovakia
Atelier 008 has completed the transformation of a fragmented 1960s house in Harmónia, Slovakia, into a meditative retreat. The project, led by architect Jan Kukula, involved rigorous spatial purification to uncover the building's load-bearing essence. Covering an area of 201 m², the renovation was finished in 2025. The design team included Jan Kukula, Romana Kukulova, Peter Sajgalik, Romana Kotrasova, and Viera Hincova. Products from Baumit, Davide Groppi, Desalto, Janosik Okna, and Studio Italia Design - Lodes were used. Photographs were taken by Matej Hakár. The project is categorized as residential architecture.
