Assouline publishes Vespa monograph for 80th anniversary

Assouline has released a monograph celebrating Vespa's 80th anniversary. The book, written by Michael Köckritz, features archival imagery from the company's history and its cultural impact. A limited edition includes seven custom bikes in Assouline's signature red and matching helmets. The Vespa was originally designed by Renzo Spolti, Vittorio Casini, and aeronautical engineer Corradino D'Ascanio. The name came from Enrico Piaggio, who said the prototype's engine sounded like a wasp ('vespa' in Italian). The book retails for €120; a gift set with helmet costs €389.
