Artribune's Top Ten Films of 2016: From Jackie to Juste la fin du monde

Artribune published its top ten films of 2016, covering a diverse range of international cinema. The list includes Pablo Larraín's 'Jackie', which won the Golden Lion for Best Screenplay at Venice and focuses on Jackie Bouvier's perspective on Kennedy's assassination; Federica di Giacomo's documentary 'Liberami', winner of the Orizzonti section at Venice 73, about exorcisms; Paolo Sorrentino's series 'The Young Pope', presented at Venice 73, starring Jude Law as Pope Pius XIII; Gabriele Mainetti's 'Lo chiamavano Jeeg Robot', a cult hit that won multiple David di Donatello awards; Alex Infascelli's documentary 'S Is for Stanley', about Stanley Kubrick's driver Emilio D'Alessandro, which won the David di Donatello for Best Documentary; Woody Allen's 'Café Society', a tribute to 1930s Hollywood; Damien Chazelle's 'La La Land', which won the Audience Award at Toronto Film Festival; Amir Naderi's 'Monte', winner of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker award at Venice 73; Werner Herzog's 'Into the Inferno', produced by Netflix and presented at Rome Film Fest; and Xavier Dolan's 'Juste la fin du monde', which won the Grand Prix at Cannes.
