“Artistes au Muséum” Celebrates 400 Years of Art and Science at the Grande Galerie de l’Évolution
Kicking off on September 23 at the Grande Galerie de l’Évolution in Paris, the exhibition titled “Artistes au Muséum” commemorates the 400th anniversary of the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle. This showcase features over 120 artists and more than 300 pieces, examining the intersection of art and science. It is divided into three segments, highlighting figures such as Charles-Alexandre Lesueur, Eugène Delacroix, and Pierre-Joseph Redouté. The second segment emphasizes the Muséum's collection of vélins and the impact of scientific inquiry on artistic expression. The concluding section displays art collections and contemporary works centered on biodiversity. Outside, towering animal sculptures by Henri-Alfred Jacquemart and others welcome attendees, alongside contributions from 40 contemporary artists, including Enki Bilal and Sarah Moon.
