Arthur Creator Marc Brown Sells Martha's Vineyard Estate for $6.4M

Marc Brown, the creator of the cherished children's show Arthur, alongside his wife, artist Laurene Kransy Brown, has sold their longtime residence on Martha's Vineyard for $6.4 million. This property, located at 180 Pilot Hill Farm Road in Vineyard Haven, was acquired in 1988 and is part of Pilot Hill Farm, which has historical roots extending back to the 1700s. The historic home, built in 1730, inspired the Arthur series. The nearly eight-acre estate includes a five-bedroom, four-bath farmhouse, a guest house, a carriage house, three studios by a small pond and waterfall, and a pool. Unique features include Marc's hand-painted Siberian Elm floors and Laurene's nature-inspired color schemes. The landscape boasts various trees and a stone bridge that influenced Marc's new HBO animated series, HOP. Co-listing agent Alexis Holden from Tea Lane Associates emphasized the Browns' restoration efforts and the property's significance to Arthur, while co-listing agent Elle Lash praised their combined artistic vision, calling the gardens and studios living works of art. Galerie Magazine reported the sale.
