Art Papers Concludes Operations with Final Year Programming After Three-Year Wind-Down Project

Art Papers, facing severe financial challenges, initiated the Fire Ecology project in 2024 as a three-year plan to systematically conclude operations by 2026. In 2025, the organization implemented key programs including the Atlanta Art Ecosystems discussions at Atlanta Contemporary and the Art Writing & Publishing Symposium. It continued publishing content such as the 'Horror After Horror' issue and participated in the Atlanta Art Fair. For its final year in 2026, Art Papers will release its last magazine issue and a retrospective book titled '50 YEARS of ART PAPERS,' with launch events in New York City and Atlanta, along with an office sale, farewell party, and a planned exhibition of archival materials.
