Art Gallery of NSW and National Gallery of Australia Launch Landmark Artwork-Sharing Collaboration
The National Gallery of Australia and the Art Gallery of New South Wales have teamed up to showcase some impressive artworks, including pieces by Edvard Munch and Njideka Akunyili Crosby. As part of this collaboration, the Art Gallery will display Munch's Man with horse from 1918, which is on loan from the National Gallery. In return, the National Gallery will lend Crosby's Na Parlour (In the parlor), created in 2025. Man with horse was added to the National Gallery’s collection in 2024, thanks to a donation from philanthropist Geoff Ainsworth AM. This partnership is set to enrich the art scene in both Sydney and Canberra, although they haven’t shared the exact dates for the loans.
