Art and Design Highlights: Exhibitions, Installations, and New Collections

Several notable art and design events are occurring this spring. Claude Lalanne's monumental golden apple sculpture, 'La Pomme de New York,' will be displayed at Le Bristol hotel in Paris from March 31 to April 14, preceding its auction at Christie's on April 15 with an estimated value of $5–8 million. Blue Green Works, a lighting studio founded by Peter B. Staples, has introduced the Garden collection, its first series using Murano glass, created in collaboration with Venetian artisans and inspired by personal loss. Designer Natalia Miyar has completed a private members club in Spain's Balearic Islands, featuring a turquoise microcement interior, vintage botanical prints, and custom lighting. Land artist Lita Albuquerque has been named the 2026 fellow by High Desert Test Sites and will create large-scale earth drawings at A-Z West in Joshua Tree from April 4 to 25, leading to a solo exhibition at the Palm Springs Art Museum opening October 17. Fragrance brand Nonfiction has opened its first boutique outside Asia on Manhattan's Lower East Side, designed by Charlap Hyman & Herrero with textural walls and exclusive artwork. Simon Pearce is reintroducing its Anemone vase in four sizes starting April 1, with handblown glass forms showcasing subtle variations. In Miami Beach, the Ocean Terrace development is hosting pop-up installations, including a presentation by New York gallery Colony featuring works by Bec Brittain and Sarah Sherman Samuel, opening April 1.
