Arna Óttarsdóttir's Largest Weavings Debut at Renovated i8 Gallery
Arna Óttarsdóttir's solo exhibition 'Afterimage' inaugurates i8 Gallery's newly renovated space at Tryggvagata 16 in Reykjavík. The show, her third with i8, opens with a reception on 9 July from 5–7 PM and runs until 29 August 2026. Óttarsdóttir presents three major new weavings, her largest to date, expanding her exploration of color, texture, shape, and composition while maintaining her dedication to handmaking and personal influences. The palette is heavier and deeper than any prior work. The exhibition juxtaposes works inspired by winter's harsh darkness against the bright, long light of summer, creating dualities.
