Architects Appointed to Lead ENSA Strasbourg and Montpellier
Since March 1, 2026, two architect-urbanists have taken the helm of France's national architecture schools in Strasbourg and Montpellier. Agnès Blondin-Carrez now directs ENSA Strasbourg, having previously served as head of the Architecture and Heritage Departmental Unit for the Ardennes (2016–2019) and then for the Bas-Rhin (2019–2023). Martin Chénot leads ENSA Montpellier; he formerly directed ENSA Saint-Étienne and ENSAP Bordeaux between 2006 and 2017, followed by overseeing the Institut Français in Casablanca and Madrid. The appointments mark a shift in leadership at two key French architecture institutions.
