April Gornik presents intimate landscapes alongside epic works at Miles McEnery Gallery

April Gornik unveils new paintings at Miles McEnery Gallery from 2 April through 9 May 2026, with an opening reception on Thursday, 9 April from 6:00-8:00 PM at 525 West 22nd Street. The exhibition features seven modestly scaled works, six executed in a minimal grisaille palette during a personal period for the artist. These intimate pieces accompany her signature large-scale landscapes, advancing her decades-long exploration of landscape as encounter rather than depiction. A fully illustrated publication with an essay by Richard Deming accompanies the show. Gornik uses scale variation to encourage fresh perspectives on her practice.
