April Art Publications: Matthew Wong Venice Exhibition Catalog, Canine Art History, and Renaissance Marble Studies

There's a new exhibition catalog for the Matthew Wong Foundation, linked to a show at Palazzo Tiepolo Passi in Venice, which runs from May 9 to November 1. The exhibit showcases 35 artworks that explore both physical and emotional landscapes, all created between 2015 and 2019. After their son’s tragic passing in 2019, Monita Wong and Raymond KP Wong established the foundation in 2020. Curator Nancy Spector points out that Wong's life-changing experiences in Venice at age 27 inspired his passion for painting. Additionally, Penguin is releasing Thomas Laqueur's "The Dog's Gaze: A Visual History" for $45, while Hatje Cantz will publish "Divine Presence" (€68) about marble in art, and Thames & Hudson will present "Drawing: Antony Gormley" for £50.
