Apple Photos App to Get Three AI-Powered Editing Tools

ai-technology · 2026-06-08

Apple announced three new AI-powered editing tools for the Photos app at its WWDC keynote. The enhanced Cleanup tool can remove multiple objects from a scene more naturally. The new Extend feature, similar to Adobe's Generative Expand, allows users to widen a photo's field of view by filling in missing areas with generative AI. The Reframe tool uses spatial data and generative AI to let users isolate and move subjects within a photo's spatial map, creating new perspectives. All three features will arrive with iOS 27 later this year.
