Antonin Baudry's De Gaulle Diptych Starring Simon Abkarian

Antonin Baudry, director of the submarine thriller Le Chant du loup, has completed a two-part historical epic on Charles de Gaulle, produced by Pathé for over €75 million. The first film, L'Âge de fer, released on June 3, 2026, covers de Gaulle's arrival in London in June 1940 with only his aide-de-camp. The second, J'écris ton nom, now in theaters, spans 1943–1944. Actor Simon Abkarian portrays de Gaulle. The diptych chronicles four years of WWII, showing how de Gaulle imposed himself as leader of Free France through political, diplomatic, and military maneuvers. The project benefits from positive word-of-mouth from the first installment.
