publication · 2026-07-10

Sir Anthony Hopkins, two-time Academy Award winner, is releasing a classical album titled 'Life is a Dream' on August 21 via Decca Classics. The album features original compositions written over six decades, performed by Gustavo Dudamel and the Philharmonia Orchestra. The first single, 'Bracken Road,' is already available on streaming platforms and is inspired by Hopkins' childhood memories of Margam in South Wales from the 1940s. Hopkins composed the piece in 1963 while a young actor at the Liverpool Playhouse. This is his second album, following 2012's 'Composer' with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra conducted by Michael Seal.
