Anni B Sweet Releases 'Alegría', Fifth Album Inspired by 1960s Psychedelia

publication · 2026-10-21

Ana Fabiola López, known professionally as Anni B Sweet, has released her fifth studio album, 'Alegría', which draws on 1960s psychedelia to challenge the idea that great music only emerges from sadness. The Málaga-born artist, born in 1987, told elDiario.es that she was influenced by the writings of André Breton, particularly the notion of using imagination to inject fantasy into reality. 'You shouldn't just accept what's in front of you; you have to use imagination to bring fantasy into our reality, which is also part of it,' she said. The album follows 'Universo por estrenar' (2019) and arrives after a period marked by the pandemic. In the interview, Anni B Sweet also stressed the importance of small venues compared to large arenas and discussed the need for consistency in activism: 'It's fine to be outspoken on social media, but you have to keep being outspoken when you don't have the screen in front of you.' The conversation also touched on Twin Temple, a band that embraces Satanism as a symbol of absolute freedom and performs love songs.
