Annely Juda Fine Art's 'Vestiges' explores memory and absence through five painters

Annely Juda Fine Art in London presents 'Vestiges', a group exhibition featuring five contemporary painters who explore memory, inheritance, and traces of the past. The title derives from the Latin 'vestigium', meaning a footprint or visible sign of something that once existed. The works engage with myth, the subconscious, history, spirituality, the self, and dreams, transforming intangible concepts into tangible paintings. Each piece conveys an impression of the ephemeral or liminal. Jess Allen's works focus on 'Presence through Absence', depicting empty chairs, sofas, books left behind, and vacant theatres or cinemas to suggest past human presence. The exhibition marks a new direction for Allen with self-portraits that turn attention to the face and inner self of the painter.
