Her co-star Meryl Streep revealed this information in an interview with Harper's Bazaar magazine. According to Streep, both actresses attended actual fashion shows as part of their research for the film and were struck by the extreme thinness of the models on the runway. Hathaway reportedly approached the film's producers immediately after this experience to request that models selected for the movie's fashion show scenes not appear similarly emaciated. Streep praised Hathaway's proactive stance, describing her as a determined advocate. The original film was inspired by fashion icon Anna Wintour, who was photographed with Hathaway at this year's Oscar ceremony. The sequel is scheduled for theatrical release soon.
