Anna October Resort 2027 Collection Draws on Parisian Flâneur Culture and Guimard

Ukrainian-born designer Anna October, who recently relocated to Paris, presented her Resort 2027 collection titled "Cafe Pleasure," inspired by the city's café culture and the sinuous lines of Hector Guimard, the architect of Paris Métro stations. The collection features leaf-shaped lace inserts and a jacquard with poppies, referencing the Art Nouveau movement. Standout pieces include a sky-blue bra-topped satin slip and a fringed frock with poncho. While known for sensuous evening gowns, October expanded into separates like shirts, curvy suits, and pleated pants, though some pieces lacked fit and sheerness. A snakeskin bustier and pants were noted as a strong extension of her core aesthetic. October stated that her vision is based on daily surroundings, and she believes the color, fabric, and execution justify new shirt designs. The collection aims to offer both quotidian and extraordinary pleasures, with an emphasis on dreamy dresses.
