Anna Foglietta's Directorial Debut 'Una storia' Premieres in Venice's Orizzonti Section
Anna Foglietta, who hails from Rome and was born in 1979, is making her directorial debut with 'Una storia.' This film, co-written and produced by HT Film, Indigo Film, Tenderstories, Blu One Lab, Rai Cinema, and HBO MAX, features Valeria Golino as a producer. The narrative centers on Erika (Alba Rohrwacher) and Mauro (Guido Caprino), a middle-class couple grappling with emotional voids as their daughter Irene (Ksenia Borzak) departs for university. Cinematographer Andrea Benjamin Manenti utilizes vintage anamorphic lenses, creating a distinctive visual approach, although reviews suggest it prioritizes style over emotional resonance. The score, composed by Rodrigo D'Erasmo, includes subdued piano and restless strings. The film is internationally titled 'Una storia comune.'
