Anita Esfandiari's solo show at Künstler:innenhaus Bremen explores movement through sculptural painting.

Anita Esfandiari is showcasing her inaugural institutional solo exhibition in Germany, titled Buoyant Dribble, at Künstler:innenhaus Bremen. This exhibition comprises sculptural paintings that merge the boundaries between painting and sculpture, highlighting figures in moments of transition. Five large-scale works are linked by wooden beams that mimic a basketball hoop, featuring pieces such as "Not here, not now – The air remembered" and "Not here, not now – Fractures, jersey blocks" (2025). Using basketball as a metaphor for social transformation, Esfandiari, who hails from Tehran and graduated from Städelschule in 2022, has previously displayed her work at various locations, including SculptureCenter New York (2025). The exhibition is backed by several foundations, and Esfandiari resides and works in Berlin.
