Angela de la Cruz Exhibition at Ikon Gallery Features New Ballet Collaboration

Ikon Gallery in Birmingham is presenting a solo exhibition of Angela de la Cruz's work, guest curated by Carolina Grau. The show includes rarely displayed pieces alongside a newly created work developed with Birmingham Royal Ballet. De la Cruz's sculptures, installations, and paintings examine themes of physical fragility, endurance, and the breakdown of structures. The artist has spent over thirty years challenging conventional distinctions between painting and sculpture. The exhibition features works such as Still Life with Table (2000) and Limp (Brown) (2000), which demonstrate her approach to material collapse and support.
