Aneta Grzeszykowska Exhibition at Fondazione D'Arc in Rome Explores Time and Reality

Polish artist Aneta Grzeszykowska is presenting a solo exhibition at Fondazione D'Arc in Rome in 2026. The show, curated by Giuliana Benassi, features works created between 2014 and 2025, including pieces from her residency project 'Daughter' completed in July 2025. Grzeszykowska's practice examines temporal concepts through cinematic language, moving beyond linear time to explore temporality as a means of reshaping reality. The exhibition includes approximately twenty works across photography, sculpture, and installation, with series such as 'Skinformer' (2024), 'Mama' (2018), 'Selfie with Dog' (2023), and 'Harbinger' (2025). Her approach incorporates hybrid elements and references to mortality while maintaining an ironic, disenchanted perspective. The artist treats time as a cinematic script, allowing forward and backward movement in her artistic process. One notable video installation, 'Clock' (2011), features the artist as a living clock hand for twelve hours, with synchronized copies appearing each hour. Grzeszykowska's work creates ambiguous realities that provoke viewers through unsettling imagery and conceptual depth, positioning art as a space of freedom and existential exploration.
