AMR's £441,000 Luna Series: Ultra-Luxury Audio for the Super-Rich
Abbingdon Music Research (AMR) has unveiled the Luna Series, a high-end audio system priced at £441,000. The collection includes the Luna Ingenii DAC, Luna Medii preamplifier, and Luna Procellarum monoblock power amplifier, developed over a decade in collaboration with John Curl, the Grateful Dead's sound engineer who co-created the Wall of Sound. Only 148 sets will be produced, using components from final production runs bought ten years ago. Each component weighs 80kg and is housed in gold-trimmed, sarcophagus-like enclosures. The system features a four-quadrant push-pull amplifier, dual mono configuration with 1200-watt output per channel, and supports streaming services like Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, and Qobuz. Launched at High End Vienna in June 2026, the system targets high-net-worth individuals. AMR's global sales director Miles Roberts demonstrated the system at Cornflake's Fitzrovia lounge in London. Availability begins Q1 2027.
