Amalia Cross Curates Major Survey of Salvador Allende Solidarity Museum Collection Through 2026
From October 2025 until August 30, 2026, the Museo de la Solidaridad Salvador Allende (MSSA) in Santiago will host "Del amor que mueve el sol y las otras estrellas," an exhibition curated by Amalia Cross. This showcase will highlight the work of over 25 global artists, such as Alexander Calder, Lygia Clark, Hélio Oiticica, Yoko Ono, and Cecilia Vicuña. Cross refers to the museum as "an act of excessive love" from Salvador Allende's administration. The exhibition's title draws inspiration from the poet Raúl Zurita. Notable items include a signed photo by Oiticica and a 1996 photoperformance by Paz Errázuriz. The event will focus on movement and audience engagement, featuring public programs and a minimalist design by Segundo Nombre, with support from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and Centro Cultural de España.
