Alphonse Mucha Exhibition at Washington County Museum of Fine Arts

From July 11, 2026, the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will showcase 'Alphonse Mucha: Master of Art Nouveau,' featuring more than 70 pieces by the renowned Czech artist (1860-1939). This exhibition delves into Mucha's career, his impact, and his enduring legacy, emphasizing how his characteristic flowing lines, floral designs, vibrant colors, and idealized representations of women shaped the Art Nouveau movement and altered visual culture. Even over a century after his posters debuted in Paris, Mucha’s work continues to inspire artists, designers, illustrators, advertisers, and filmmakers. His creations not only embody decorative elegance but also provide profound reflections on the Belle Époque period.
