Aliza Nisenbaum's Community Portraits Featured in Joint Presentation at EXPO CHICAGO

Regen Projects and Anton Kern Gallery are jointly presenting works by Aliza Nisenbaum at EXPO CHICAGO in 2026. The display highlights her distinctive method of portraiture and community involvement. Nisenbaum, who was born in Mexico City and now lives in New York, creates vibrant paintings through participatory observation, building connections with subjects often from immigrant backgrounds. The exhibition includes the large diptych 'El Taller (The Workshop)' from 2023, originally made for her Queens Museum solo show, which portrays a bilingual painting class she led for food pantry volunteers. The presentation also previews a major mural she has designed for the Obama Presidential Center, scheduled to debut in June 2026.
