Alimé Bébégué Releases "Nkánò Na Bèpadapáda / Conversation avec les papillons!", a Nine-Track Jazz Album

Nine tracks make up "Nkánò Na Bèpadapáda / Conversation avec les papillons!", the new album by Cameroonian guitarist Alimé Bébégué, released with a title that translates as "Conversation with the Butterflies." A hike taken in France supplied the inspiration for the record, which also draws on the musician's travels in that country and on his Cameroonian origins. Bébégué was born in the Mbam region, in the centre of Cameroon, and studied jazz guitar at a conservatory in Paris. Latin and African sonorities colour his jazz, which honours both the French countryside and historical figures including Ruben Um Nyobe and Thomas Sankara, while keeping sight of Cameroonian roots and of transmission through an album of nursery rhymes and games. Bébégué presented the release as a guest of Nathalie Amar on RFI. The same programme featured a Café Polar segment in which Catherine Fruchon-Toussaint spoke with Julie Morineau about her first novel, "La Cartographe des énigmes" (Métailié Noir), a story that moves through the history of the internet via a narrator who is a historian and cartographer of the Web and becomes entangled in a murder. The day's playlist included Bébégué's "Yassou" and "Inda." The programme aired on 22 October 2026 at 18:18.
