Ali Banisadr's Talisman at Thaddaeus Ropac Paris Marais

Talisman, an exhibition featuring new creations by Ali Banisadr, a Tehran-born artist now based in New York, is on display at Thaddaeus Ropac Paris Marais. This showcase includes paintings, sculptures, and pastels, highlighting the core elements of Banisadr's artistic approach: intricately arranged pictorial realms, archetypal characters, symbolic elements, and potent objects that seem to convey memories across eras. Coinciding with Banisadr's exhibition at the Musée national Gustave Moreau in Paris, which opens on 9 September and continues until 7 December 2026, Talisman engages in a conversation with the works of the French Symbolist master, a significant influence on this new collection. For Banisadr, imagery serves as a talisman—an object of protection, transformation, and transmission, developed through an instinctive process in his sketchbook.
