Alexandra Catiere Presents 'Tout en ce lieu me survivra' at Galerie Leica Paris

From April 3 to June 20, 2026, Galerie Leica Paris will host 'Tout en ce lieu me survivra,' a solo exhibition by photographer Alexandra Catiere. This presentation marks her participation as the fourth artist in the INSTANTS residency program, a collaborative initiative between Château Palmer and Leica that began in 2023. For the project, Catiere positioned her camera among the stones and vines of the Château Palmer estate over several months, creating layered images that explore temporal accumulation rather than literal depictions of viticulture. She focused on unexpected elements like trees in the vineyard, orchard produce, and silverware to reveal what she describes as the 'invisible thickness of time' and nature's endurance across human generations. The artist alternated between fieldwork and her darkroom, employing techniques of superposition and nuanced revelation. Catiere, born in Minsk, Belarus, trained at the International Center of Photography in New York and worked in Irving Penn's studio before settling in Paris in 2008. Her career includes exhibitions at institutions like the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, and she received the Camera Clara prize in 2024. The INSTANTS residency provides complete artistic freedom, supporting contemporary photography inspired by Château Palmer's ecosystem. Previous participants include Paul Cupido, Henrike Stahl, and SMITH.
