Alex Webb's 'Walking Blues' Charts 40 U.S. Cities Through a Blues Lens
In 2026, Aperture is set to publish "Alex Webb: Walking Blues," a monograph that encapsulates more than a decade of street photography across approximately 40 American cities. Born in San Francisco in 1952, Webb drew inspiration from the spontaneous essence of blues music, capturing serendipitous moments in vibrant colors and intricate compositions. The collection features images taken from 2010 to 2025, including works from cities such as Atlanta (2018), Indianapolis (2016), and New York (2019). An exhibition of prints will be displayed at Aperture from November 18, 2026, to January 10, 2027. Additionally, a launch discussion with Webb and Rebecca Norris Webb is scheduled for December 8 at 6:30 p.m. EDT at the School of Visual Arts. Webb has been a member of Magnum Photos since 1979 and has authored over 15 books.
