ALBERTINA Examines Travel Photography's Rise in 'The World in Focus'

The ALBERTINA in Vienna will present 'The World in Focus' from July 22 to October 26, 2026, an exhibition tracing travel and expedition photography from the mid-19th century to early color photography. Curated by Anna Hanreich, the show features 107 photographs from the museum's collection, plus a projection of early autochromes. It examines political, scientific, commercial, and cultural forces behind travel imagery, moving beyond scenic appeal. The exhibition is housed in the Tietze Galleries.
