AI-Generated Taylor Swift Wedding Photos Debunked via SynthID Watermarks

Fake AI-generated images of Taylor Swift's wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce were rapidly debunked using Google's SynthID watermarking tool. The singer required all 1,000 guests to sign NDAs, creating a void filled by synthetic media. A viral TikTok post was flagged as AI-generated. Snopes identified SynthID watermarks and classic AI artifacts like extra fingers and missing hands. BBC Verify also found SynthID watermarks on images purportedly from Madison Square Garden, including one featuring Kanye West, who would not have been invited. The BBC noted attempts to pass off real photos of Swift at previous weddings as her own. Music video director Joseph Kahn confirmed on X that all wedding images he saw were fake. Google's SynthID has watermarked over 100 billion images since May. Users can check for SynthID via Google Gemini or OpenAI's dedicated website. Swift, one of the most deepfaked people in history, filed trademark applications earlier this year to protect her likeness from AI misuse.
